Welcome
Welcome to the Super Stars Pre-Kindergarten classroom! We are eager to help your child develop and grow throughout the year in our room. We believe that parental involvement in our classroom is very
important. We welcome volunteering during the school year and there will be plenty of opportunities. Your child will probably inform you of everything that goes on at school. Spend time talking about school with your child and ask them about what they have done each day. If they feel you are interested about what they are learning, they will discuss more with you and will look forward to coming to school each day.
We have lots of activities planned for this year. It is IMPORTANT that you keep up with all the notes and letters sent home. Please be sure to check your child’s mailbox EVERY DAY. We are not responsible for things you miss if you do not check the mailbox.
These are the Learning Centers your child will enjoy while in our room:
· Dramatic Play Center will be hands on learning of social and emotional development through pretend play and dress up.
· Block Center will be hands on learning for fine motor and problem solving skills using blocks, cars, trucks, trains and road signs.
· Art Center will be equipped with crayons, markers, papers, stamps, scissors, and paint to foster creativity and fine motor development.
· Writing Center will be equipped with individual journals, pencils, stencils, easel, chalkboards and tracing mats to foster fine motor skills and language and literacy development.
· Science Center will be hands on learning through growing things, exploring and experiments.
· Math Center will be hands on learning through identifying numbers, sequencing, classifying, shapes, and puzzles.
· Reading/Listening Center will be equipped with books and cassettes/CDs that will add language and literacy development.
· Computer Center will be hands on learning with a variety of educational software.
· Sensory Table will be hands on learning to promote social development and gross and fine motor skills. The table will be filled with water, sand, dirt, flour, and much more throughout the year.
